Appointment of Dr Boleslaw Posmyk as Chair of NHS Darlington CCG

28th June 2018 by jmcguinness

NHS Darlington Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Boleslaw Posmyk as newly elected Chair of NHS Darlington Clinical Commissioning Group Governing Body for the next twelve months.

Dr Posmyk qualified as a doctor in Leeds in 1981. He is a very experienced clinical leader and CCG Chair who was elected to the NHS Hartlepool and Stockton-on-Tees CCG Governing Body following a number of senior clinical leadership roles in the former PCT and Practice Based commissioning arrangements.

He takes up his role as Chair of Darlington CCG in June 2018 following approval at the CCG Governing Body on 22nd May 2018. Dr Posmyk is also our nomination for CCG Appointed Governor.

Since 1 May 2016 NHS Darlington CCG and NHS Hartlepool and Stockton-On-Tees (HaST) Clinical commissioning Group (CCG) have had a shared management arrangement and a joint Chief Officer.

Ali Wilson, joint Chief Officer, NHS Darlington CCG and NHS Hartlepool and Stockton-on-Tees said, ‘We strongly believe that this collaboration supports the delivery of our statutory responsibilities and helps to deliver the transformational challenges and aspirations for our respective communities. The collaboration is intended to create two successful and sustainable organisations through shared learning and development and Dr Posmyk’s appointment will support this collaborative working and learning across the two CCGs.’

Commenting on his new appointment Dr Posmyk said, ’I’m grateful to the Darlington practices and CCG for giving me the opportunity to help plan and deliver the best possible care for the population of Darlington. I have gained an understanding of the Darlington community though our existing collaborative work, but I will now be undertaking some regular clinical sessions in Darlington, visiting all the Darlington practices and meeting other stakeholders to gain a deeper understanding of the needs of people in Darlington. This will allow me, together with my colleagues in NHS Darlington CCG, in equal collaboration with NHS Hartlepool and Stockton-on Tees CCG to effectively and sustainably meet the needs of the people for whom we commission care.’

Dr Andrea Jones’s will have a continued presence in a senior clinical leadership role across both NHS Hartlepool and Stockton-on-Tees CCG and NHS Darlington CCG.  In addition, NHS Hartlepool and Stockton-on-Tees CCG has appointed two new Governing Body GP locality leads, for Hartlepool Dr Adam Din has been appointed and for Stockton-on-Tees, Dr Judith Donkin.

Ends.
