Darlington women can learn about the importance of cervical screening at a fun event this January.
Clifton Court Medical Practice has invited all female patients from the surgery to come along to a Women’s Health and Wellbeing event on Monday January 28.
The session is running from 6pm until 7.30pm and is a chance to learn more about the importance of women’s health screening in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
There will be bookable or drop in cervical screening appointments available. All who attend will receive a free raffle ticket.
A free gym session at the Dolphin Centre is also available for all women who attend the evening.
About 3,000 cases of cervical cancer are diagnosed each year in the UK. Since the NHS cervical screening programme was introduced in the 1980s, the number of cervical cancer cases has decreased by about seven per cent each year.
