Do you need to see a GP or nurse during the evening or weekend?
Staff at the GP extended access service which offers GP and nurse appointments during evenings and weekends are settling into their new premises at Doctor Piper House, King Street in Darlington town centre.
The appointments to see a GP, nurse or healthcare assistant are available by calling 111 or booking an appointment via your own GP practice and are available to anyone who is registered in a GP practice in Darlington.
Evening and weekend GP and nurse appointments are available Saturday 8am-2pm; Sunday 9am-1pm; Monday-Thursdays 6.30-9pm; Fridays 6.30-8.30pm. Appointments must be pre-booked by calling your GP practice or NHS 111.

We also want to stress that as well as booking an appointment to see a GP you can also see a nurse or a health care assistant. Services include contraceptive pills and Depo-Provera (contraceptive injections); health checks; cervical smear tests; blood tests and (ECGs) electrocardiogram requested by GPs.
