Darlington CCG supports Minor Ailments Scheme…
The aim of the scheme is to support patient’s self-care and encourage greater use of local pharmacies as the first port of call for minor ailments such as indigestion, heartburn, sore throat and hay fever.
The scheme improves access to healthcare, helps people to manage minor ailments themselves and saves patient’s time.
Those most likely to benefit are patients who are exempt from prescription charges and currently receive a prescription from their GP to obtain free treatment. If you are registered with a GP practice in the County Durham and Darlington area you may be eligible for free medicines.
Local pharmacies can advise patients on a wide range of minor ailments and either recommend treatment or refer you to another healthcare professional.
So, if you want to save time, get the treatment you need quickly, please go straight to your community pharmacy.
